Upcoming Meeting Topic:
Back to the Basics: Conducting the Basic Interview
Date: WEDNESDAY, May 15th, 2013 9:00AM– 12:00PM
Location: City of Merced Fire Station 51 - Conference Room 99 E. 16th Merced Ca 95348
Training: We will cover a Powerpoint outlining the basic do's and don'ts for conducting interviews. Knowing some basic interview techniques and developing a plan before the interview starts may be critical to the success of your investigation.
Upcoming Classes: CVAI is working with CCAI President Scotty Baker to put on an Investigation 2B class in the very near future. Also, PC832 Training is coming up in August in Fresno.
Discussion: Our investigation unit has aquired new documentation equipment in the form of a lap top computer and portable printer. This will assist with report development, photos/logs, evidence lables, etc. We will also have a representative from Concordia Claims Managers come and speak to us regarding their arson dog program.
Arson Fires: Recent vegetation fires in the Fahrens Creek area. Also the double homicide fire on Bear Creek in 2006.
Note: All of the Roundtable #4 meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of Each Month.
